If you are missing credits and want to complete your High School Diploma, enter a vocational training programme, or make a career plan, our SARCA agent at Eastern Québec can help you.

What is SARCA

It is an initiative from the Ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport (MELS) to encourage people aged 16 and older (including adults who have been out of school for some time) to complete their high school diploma or go into a vocational education programme.

What does the word SARCA mean?

It is a French acronym which means Services d’accueil, de référence, de conseil et d’accompagnement: Career counselling, referral, reception and support services.

Do I have to pay?

No, this service is Free and Confidential to everyone over 16 years of age.

If any of the following situations apply to you:

  • Did not complete your high school diploma
  • Do not have a high school diploma or DEP (Vocational Education diploma) recognized by Québec
  • Want to assess your existing skills
  • Want to start a professional programme
  • Want to establish a career path
  • Cannot move ahead in the workplace
  • Feel marginalised because of health issues
  • Are unable to find work because of lack of qualifications
  • Need financial support to study

  • Evaluate the skills you already have
  • Help you identify your options
  • Formulate a career path
  • Support your choices
  • Give tests to establish equivalencies
  • Look at options through the MELS, or Emploi Québec training opportunities
  • Refer you to another organisation if necessary
